2014 GM light duty trucks receive 5 stars in crash test

The 2014 Chevrolet Silverado 1500 the GMC Sierra are the first pickup trucks to receive the highest possible five-star Overall Vehicle Score for safety since the NHTSA changed its New Car Assessment Program for the 2011 model year. NHTSA tested the crew cab models. These light duty trucks offer fully boxed frames, extensive use of high-strength steel, and several segment-exclusive safety features are available, including Forward Collision Alert, Lane Departure Warning, and Safety Alert Seat.

For 2014, GM introduced their new light duty trucks with high tech features inside the cabin and more important, updated engines. The V6 4.3L and V8 5.3L are now equipped with active fuel management system, variable valve timing, and direct injection. 2014 Silverado and Sierra achieve better fuel economy and performance figures than outgoing models.
